California's doughnut darling, Randy's Donuts, is gearing up to open a second location in Phoenix at the end of this month. Following the success of its inaugural Phoenix shop launched in April, the renowned doughnut chain plans to open its doors on August 29, 2024, inside a new Pilot Travel Center on 40th Street, just off the I-10 freeway. According to a Phoenix New Times report, Brian Padilla, the local managing partner, expressed his excitement over expanding the Randy's Donuts footprint, stating, "Our first location in Phoenix has been a huge hit." Padilla also highlighted the brand's intention to grow throughout the Phoenix metro area, all while staying true to its over 70-year legacy.
On opening day, Randy's Donuts promises to also quickly become a Chandler staple. The first customers in Phoenix will have a chance to score some tasty freebies. “The first 100 people in line will receive a free glazed doughnut,” announced the doughnut shop in a press release, as reported by the Phoenix New Times. To further sweeten the deal, Randy's is giving customers the opportunity to win a free classic dozen doughnuts each month for a year, with details on how to enter set to be available on social media and in-store.
The new Randy's will open each day at 6 a.m., as mentioned by ABC15, ready to dish out a variety of classic and unique doughnut flavors, breakfast sandwiches, and more. Coffee drinks, frappes, boba teas, and milkshakes are also on the menu to complement the doughnut selection. The food options highlight the brand's knack for combining traditional treats with trendy sips.
Known for its distinctive 32-foot-tall doughnut sign that towers over its Inglewood, California location, Randy's Donuts has become a cultural landmark, featuring in numerous movies and TV shows. Randy’s now has several locations across California, including Los Angeles and San Diego, and a growing international presence in the Philippines, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. Expansion continues in Arizona, with the Chandler store being the latest addition. Plans to open more stores in the East Valley will be announced soon, according to a news release reported by the Phoenix New Times.
