Atlanta-based rapper Clifford Harris, known as T.I., experienced a case of mistaken identity leading to his arrest at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The incident occurred Sunday night when authorities mistook T.I. for another Clifford Harris, who is wanted in Baltimore for serious charges including violent behavior toward a woman, stalking, and gun mishandling, as reported by Fox Baltimore.
Despite being taken to a county jail and facing an automatic extradition hearing, it soon became clear that the Grammy award-winning artist was not the man law enforcement was seeking after all, a judge promptly reviewed and dismissed the extradition order. T.I.'s lawyer, Steve Sadow, confirmed that he was released within two hours of his arrest, as detailed by CBS Baltimore.
From a legal standpoint, the case was quickly closed in Atlanta, with the judge's decision to dismiss the extradition order, yet this incident leaves behind questions about how such a mix-up happened and the measures in place to prevent such an event.
