Rice County officials have announced a temporary road closure on County Road 11, popularly known as Roberds Lake Boulevard, to make way for geotechnical work in response to a slope failure that has challenged the area since late June's punishing rains. Scheduled for Friday, August 23, the closure took efforts to deal with the aftermath of nature's recent onslaught, according to Rice County Minnesota. Due to the nature of the work, which involves soil boring near the compromised slope, the part of the road next to the failure will remain closed while crews are on site.
Creating this plan, as informed by the gathered data, isn't expected to be a brief endeavor. Taking several weeks to finalize, it must undergo review from state agencies, and possibly FEMA, before the county can proceed with the bidding process for repair works—events laid out on the timeline for a spring engagement. "Rice County empathizes with area residents and understands the inconvenience this has caused," conveyed through an official release.
Concerned motorists and locals seeking more specifics on the roadwork can direct inquiries to key county representatives.
