Violence erupted in a Sacramento neighborhood last Friday evening, leading to a fatal shooting and a community on edge. According to the Sacramento Police Department's Facebook page, patrol officers were called to the 2500 block of Altos Avenue following reports of gun violence just before 5:45 p.m., where they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed pending notification of next of kin, was rushed to a nearby hospital by Sacramento Fire personnel, but tragically did not survive; this incident has now sparked a homicide investigation with detectives, and crime scene investigators swarming the area to piece together what happened, no arrests have been made, and the police are yet to provide information on any potential suspects.
