The collaboration, which has been a staple of community support for several years, is set to occur today, offering cuts to K-12 students from 9:00 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Williams Barber College.
Elon Silas, owner of the Williams Barber College, sees the event as far more than a simple haircut. "I like the idea of giving back to people," he said, demonstrating his conviction that a sharp new hairstyle can bolster a child's confidence in a fundamental way. "When you are going back to school with new clothing on and a nice haircut, you feel like you should be going to school that day," Silas told KENS5. Jordan Lester of the fraternity elaborated on the initiative's deeper significance, "First impressions leave lasting impressions," he said, an insight backed by the organization's 83 years of service to the local community.

A Back to School Summit orchestrated by the church and the Psi Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated has led to full chairs and buzzing clippers.
