He also engaged with actor Sean Astin, sharing the efforts on social media, including his collaboration with the Democratic Mayors Association at their "Taste of America's Cities" event, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
Meanwhile, Mayor Nirenberg did not shy away from political commentary during his appearance, as chronicled by San Antonio Express-News. He openly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for presidency, criticized U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, and described former President Donald Trump as a "clown" that should be kept out of the White House.
In addition to his planned appearances, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar is also scheduled to speak this week, amplifying the representation from San Antonio at the DNC. Bexar County Democratic Party Chair Monica Ramirez Alcantara shared her enthusiasm with FOX San Antonio, saying, "For Bexar County to be represented in such a great way on the national stage is amazing."
