The people of San Antonio are bracing themselves for a sizzling week ahead, with temperatures expected to soar. Today started with a humid morning with an overcast sky, but the clouds are set to give way as the sun climbs, ushering in a day of mostly clear skies and intensifying heat, according to the National Weather Service.
Today's high will be in the upper 90s, with a heat index of around 105 degrees. Residents should stay hydrated and stay indoors if they can. Light southeast winds will pick up to 10 mph, and by evening, expect partly cloudy skies with breezes gusting up to 20 mph.
On Tuesday, expect temperatures around 99 degrees with a heat index of up to 107. The hot weather will continue through the week, with highs staying at or above 100 degrees and clear skies from Wednesday to Friday
This week, nights will only cool to the high 70s, offering little relief from the heat. On Saturday, expect a high of 102 degrees, showing that summer's intense heat continues with no sign of letting up.
