An extensive manhunt across Medina County concluded Saturday night with the arrest of a suspect from San Antonio, identified as Eric Rodriguez, who was discovered hiding in a shed in Castroville. Medina County Sheriff Randy Brown detailed that his department collaborated with San Antonio Police Department to apprehend Rodriguez in connection with a robbery charge from the San Antonio area. The Texas Department of Public Safety and Castroville Police Department, among other agencies, also participated in the effort, KSAT reports.
Rodriguez's flight from justice started on State Highway 90 and ended abruptly in a Castroville neighborhood where he crashed his vehicle and attempted to evade capture on foot, officials rapidly established a perimeter for their search in the remote locale that concluded when Rodriguez was found hiding under some items in a shed the authorities have mentioned his arrest was effected without further complications. "Rodriguez was taken into custody without further incident," Sheriff Brown told KSAT.
Rodriguez is currently being held in the Medina County Jail on undisclosed charges, and as per local protocol, the City of Castroville is expected to file additional charges. The San Antonio Police Department will assume responsibility for the ongoing investigation, which might yield further updates on the case, as reported by Tw com News.
