Residents in the San Francisco Bay Area should prepare for a slight rise in temperatures today and Wednesday, moving a few notches above the seasonal average, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The agency's San Francisco Bay Area branch noted this subtle shift towards warmer weather. "A slight warmup begins today with inland temperatures reaching into the 90s, and closer to the upper 80s around the SF Bay," the National Weather Service detailed. Coastal highs, in contrast, are expected to hover in the 60s.

While Tuesday brings these heightened temperatures, the increase is set to last barely, with forecasts indicating a cool down as the weekend approaches. "Cooler temperatures expected towards the end of the week," reveals the National Weather Service. Interior regions might have to cope with moderate HeatRisk briefly, but authorities anticipate no significant heat impacts and presently do not deem heat advisory products necessary. The Bay Area’s famed "Fogust" phenomenon makes a modest return, with coastal stratus expanding inland through the Salinas Valley and the Golden Gate, though anticipated to recede later in the morning.

Aviation travel throughout the Bay Area may experience minor disruptions due to existing weather conditions. Expect very low cloud cover and pockets of fog around Monterey Bay and the immediate coast that could persist into mid to late morning before clearing up. As noted by the National Weather Service, the Monterey Bay region and terminals will likely face another round of reduced visibility and fog that will stretch into Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, marine conditions will be rough, with a northwesterly swell causing turbulent seas. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Wednesday afternoon for coastal zones extending from Point Arena to Point Reyes.
