Traffic along the Montague Expressway was impacted, with authorities urging people to steer clear from the area due to the firefighting activities. The fire, which also spread to multiple abandoned buildings and one home, was eventually contained with no injuries reported. The San José Fire Department stated, "Forward progress stopped as of 2:03pm. Crews performing mop-up." Although one large barn and additional outbuildings were involved in the fire, it appears that no structures were occupied at the time of the incident.
Overall, the fire scorched approximately 3-5 acres before being halted by the SJFD crews. Despite the potential threat to one home, they managed to prevent further damage beyond the abandoned buildings and the barn.
