The incident escalated promptly after the suspect, driving alone, abandoned the vehicle and led the police on a foot chase. The pursuit saw the driver, with the ghost gun in his waistband, run and toss it aside between parked cars, as noticed by the training officer and their recruit. The recovery of the loaded weapon and an additional high-capacity magazine was a direct outcome of their vigilant observation, and their efforts were lauded by the San Jose PD for maintaining the safety of the downtown community.
Following a brief chase, the driver was placed under arrest. This ended a morning that could have spiraled into something more dangerous, considering the ghost gun found at the scene.
