The San Rafael Police have arrested three juveniles in connection with violent incidents in the Canal Neighborhood. During the arrests, officers found a loaded handgun and brass knuckles in the suspects' vehicle. The minors, facing multiple felony charges, were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall following an investigation into an assault that occurred in June.
On June 18, officers responded to an assault at Playa Del Rey, where a victim was attacked with brass knuckles. Witness statements and surveillance footage helped identify the three male suspects and their vehicle. The victim's hospitalization highlighted the seriousness of the attack, leading to aggravated battery charges.
Yesterday, a San Rafael police officer spotted the suspect vehicle and, with backup, stopped it at an apartment complex on Belvedere Street. During the stop, one occupant admitted to having a loaded gun in the car. A search revealed brass knuckles and a folding knife, as reported by the San Rafael Police Department.
