Local artist Naomi Young is set to showcase her latest creative endeavor, "Textura," at The MAIN in Santa Clarita. According to the City of Santa Clarita, the exhibition will be open from August 6 to September 30. A special reception event is earmarked for August 15, promising guests an evening steeped in artistic exploration from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
In this solo exhibition, Young invites attendees to engage directly with her textured works, utilizing a plethora of mediums that promise to engage fully the senses. "Every stone tells a story; every mosaic is a jigsaw puzzle rich with layers of history," Young said, as stated by the City of Santa Clarita. Hailing from Jerusalem and drawing inspiration from the intricate narratives of nature and her homeland, Young is set to lay bare a collection of watercolors, pastels, colored pencils, acrylics, and vibrant mosaics, including handcrafted wall tapestries.
For those intrigued by the confluence of ancient text and tilework and their resonance with contemporary art forms, The MAIN at 24266 Main Street will be the gathering ground. Moreover, the exhibition presents an opportunity for locals to not only appreciate but also to critically examine the cross-section of cultural identity and artistic expression.
