Schertz residents will soon have the chance to voice their opinions on a proposed rezoning issue that could bring significant change to their community. According to an official notice published by the City, a public hearing will be held at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 3, starting at 6:00 p.m., at Schertz Municipal Complex Council Chambers to discuss the potential rezoning of approximately 38.8 acres of land.
Currently zoned as Single-Family Residential/Agricultural District (R-A) and General Business District (GB), the proposal aims to change these areas to Apartment/Multi-Family District (R-4). This change could drastically alter the landscape of the neighborhood, potentially paving the way for denser housing developments in a space currently characterized by homes and businesses. Located 1,100 feet west of the FM 2252 and IH 35 intersection, the affected properties are known by Guadalupe County Property Identification Number 68294 through 68316.
The City has extended an invitation to all individuals with an interest to attend the public hearing. For those looking to find out more about this rezoning request or who have questions, the Planning Division can be reached at [email protected], or by calling (210) 619-1780, as per the information shared in the notice.
