A Seattle man has been charged with first-degree murder and felony assault. Andy Chu, aged 26, admitted to detectives that he "may have been responsible for killing her," referring to his girlfriend who was found dead in a townhome that was mysteriously flooded, according to court documents obtained by KOMO News. The victim, identified as Zoey Suyun He, had reportedly come to visit Chu from Hawaii.
After the neighbors, who witnessed water leaking from Chu's residence, notified the landlord, Seattle police were dispatched to the Lake City neighborhood's home on Northeast 133rd Street. The tragic find of He's body further compounded by the assault of a University of Washington nurse, later on, has left the community grasping for answers. Notably, Chu was also accused of sexually assaulting the nurse following the murder, as detailed by court documents cited by KATU.
The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is now handling a potentially difficult case. According to Hindustan Times, footage prior to the grim discovery showed Chu walking with an erratic demeanor alongside He. Chu, now detained and facing serious charges, awaits trial.
