Bike enthusiasts and daily commuters in Seattle can now enjoy a smoother, safer ride through the heart of the city. The 4th Ave protected bike lane, extending from Pioneer Square through Downtown and into Belltown, has been fully upgraded. According to the Seattle Department of Transportation, the completion of these enhancements marks a stride towards a more cyclist-friendly urban environment.

The overhaul of the bike lane on 4th Ave includes the installation of concrete curbs that promise sturdier protection for two-wheel travelers. This move is anticipated to better separate cyclists and scooter riders from moving cars, upping the safety ante for those who ply these lanes. "Improved bike lanes which make biking a more attractive and more viable transportation option," boasts the Seattle Department of Transportation. Additionally, these enhancements are predicted to reduce the number of individuals driving solo to and through the Center City.

But the changes don't just stop with harder barriers. Parking and loading have now been shifted to the outside of the protected lane, streamlining the space for bikers.
