A stabbing incident near Boston University Bridge on Thursday morning resulted in serious injuries for one individual and sparked a significant law enforcement response in the vicinity. The event also led to a temporary alert for students on the Boston University campus.
As reported, the Massachusetts State Police were alerted to the incident just before noon by the Boston University Police, which in turn prompted a collaborative response from both state and Boston city police, due to the incident's location presenting jurisdictional ambiguities, and consequently, it is a telling snapshot of the blurred lines between state and municipal responsibilities in times of crisis.
