EMS crews rushed to the scene, finding one individual in need of urgent CPR. They successfully regained the person's pulse by approximately 6:53 p.m., soon after being quickly transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center in a critical state, according to the reports from CBS Austin. Refusing EMS transport to the hospital, five others involved were injured but managed the crash's aftermath on their terms.
The Austin Fire crews were also in response, assisting the EMS with the casualties of the crash. Amidst the chaos, the Austin-Travis County EMS informed the public to brace for traffic delays resulting from the accident, which they later confirmed was no longer an active scene on their end. The cause of the crash remains a puzzle that officials have yet to piece together.
While emergency services worked meticulously to attend to the injured, drivers were told to expect congestion in the crash's vicinity. With the area being a spot frequented by commuters and families alike, the impact of the incident is felt beyond the tangible wounds sustained by the unfortunate individuals involved, as mentioned by KXAN. Authorities persist in their efforts to shed light on what led to the multi-vehicle collision, with the investigation actively underway.
