South Boston was the scene of a stabbing late Sunday night, leading to the arrest of a local woman on charges of assault and battery. Boston Police Department reports that officers from District C-6 responded to the incident at around 11:37 PM, near 112 Southampton Street after receiving a call about a person who had been stabbed.
Officers arriving at the scene found a male victim receiving medical attention from Boston EMS, who later transported him to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, following a fight where he was allegedly attacked by a female assailant. During the chaos and noise of emergency vehicles, the police quickly got a description of the suspect and found her near Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard.
The suspect, identified as Amber Kelly, a 34-year-old from Boston, now faces not only charges related to the stabbing incident but also had to confront five active warrants against her. Boston PD has confirmed that Kelly was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, seemingly closing the book on at least one episode in a tale much longer than the single page turned last night.
Kelly is set to appear in Roxbury District Court for arraignment. While the details of the incident may remain confidential.
