The South Side Entertainment Patrol has markedly increased its presence in the East Carson Street corridor and nearby areas. Over five days, from August 7 through August 11, officers were actively engaged in enforcing various ordinances and laws, reflecting a commitment to maintaining order in this bustling part of the city, according to the latest City of Pittsburgh public safety report.
Diligence in their rounds has led the Patrol to conduct 21 traffic stops, and issue 18 traffic citations. Parking has not been ignored either, with two citations written up and seven vehicles towed, signaling a resolve to keep the streets clear and compliant with local regulations. Furthermore, the officers have handed out 35 non-traffic citations, a testament to their vigilance in monitoring activities beyond the flow of cars and trucks.
The Patrol's efforts have not been fruitless in terms of more serious offenses. They have made seven arrests over those days. The charges laid are significant: an outstanding warrant, unauthorized firearm possession, controlled substance possession, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, vehicle code violations, driving while operating privileges were suspended, intent to deliver possession, and firearm possession by a prohibited person.
