Residents and motorists will see changes in the landscape of St. Louis Park as Alley B has been reopened to traffic, signaling a measure of progress in the 2024 Alley Reconstruction project. In an update provided by the city, Alley E and F remain under construction. Commuters navigating these areas are advised to move all solid waste receptacles out of the alleys to avoid interference with the ongoing work.
According to the latest bulletin from the City of St. Louis Park, the storm sewer infiltration systems have already been installed, and grading work is still underway on both Alley E and F. The concrete work is expected to commence on the week of August 12. Meanwhile, Alley B has not only been reopened but also undergone final touches with grass seed, fertilizer, and erosion blankets laid down to aid in vegetation restoration which requires frequent watering.
For those who regularly commute through these areas, it's important to note some additional work will be carried out on Alley B. "Some additional asphalt patching near the south end of the alley will occur later in August," the city's communication detailed. However, Alley C's construction arc has come to a close with all work completed and similar landscaping actions taking place.
With the project expected to wrap up by the end of August, the city is keeping the community informed and involved. Project engineer Jack Sullivan and field coordinator Mark Fremder are listed as contact points for those seeking more information. Sullivan can be reached at 952.924.2691 or [email protected], while Fremder's contact details are 952.924.2670 and [email protected], as stated by the project update.
The full scope of the project and what residents can expect during this transformational period can be found in the 2024 Alley Reconstruction Newsletter on the project website.
