St. Louis Park residents can breathe a slight sigh of relief as the city's Pavement Management Program continues to progress through its various phases of construction. According to a recent update from the City of St. Louis Park, Phase 1 nears completion, barring the final application of pavement on Vernon Avenue and the completion of various punch list items.

For locals navigating through Phase 2 areas during the weeks of August 12 and 19, the update suggests a continuity of concrete work. Specifically, the concrete contractor is set to continue completing the remaining concrete sidewalk in phase 2 into the next week which might snarl up the pedestrian movement. Meanwhile, the laborers are also focusing on erecting a retaining wall and installing sidewalks on 41st Street. This work, alongside placing topsoil and subsequent sod restoration, is anticipated to extend into the following weeks.

The update, hosted on the city's website, outlines the strides made in Phase 3, including the completion of utility replacement. It gears up for the next stage of development, stating "The grading contractor has started grading the streets to get it ready for concrete curb installation." This grading operation is also expected to spill over into the week following. Furthermore, the concrete curb installation has been tentatively penciled in for the week of August 26.

Moving into Phase 4, residents of Lynn Avenue were particularly affected. The notification was clear, "Effective today (August 14) until end of the day tomorrow (August 15), there will be limited access to the 3800 block of Lynn Avenue (between 39th Street and the dead-end north of Vallacher Avenue)." The disruptions are due to the water main being laid right in the middle of Lynn Avenue, an effort that should conclude within a day. Subsequent utility replacement will follow on Natchez Avenue and 39th Street. As these processes unfold, storm and sanitary sewer structure replacement work will carry on throughout this phase during the week of August 19.

Residents are also reminded to remove personal property from the workspace. The update advises "If you have private improvements such as underground sprinklers, electric wiring, perennial gardens, or invisible fences within 15 feet of curb, it is likely that they are in the public right of way." It warns that non-removal could lead to damage for which the property owner would be responsible. For concerns, the update directs residents to reach out to Project Engineer Aaron Wiesen or Project Coordinator Tom Leonhardt.
