The City Park in Dallas, better known to locals as Old City Park, is staging a series of free events that promise to be the perfect backdrop for your next family outing. The Dallas Park and Recreation, in partnership with the Dallas Public Library, is hosting these family-friendly shindigs at 1717 Gano Street, Dallas 75215 each month until December. It's not just a park visit, it's a cultural dip into the 19th century, complete with Victorian-era homes, and commercial buildings sprawled across 20 lush acres, according to the City of Dallas.
On August 17 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., families are invited to "Tell Your Family’s Story" at Browder Springs Hall within the park, where you can capture your family's milestones with a photo and accompanying audio recording. It's a part of history that you're making at the Dallas Public Library’s mobile memory station.
