The Round Rock Police Department has once again linked arms with the community in the spirit of support and unity, at the third annual "Step N2 Success" event. According to CBS Austin, this initiative aims to fit the feet of young scholars with over 800 new pairs of shoes, just in time for them to embark on their academic journeys for the year.

Assistant Chief Willie Richards from the Round Rock Police Department emphasized the moment as a chance to demonstrate a shared community spirit, "We want to partner with our community, so the best way to do that is to break this barrier down, and we are just as part of the community as everybody else, and this is how we demonstrate unity in one community, and it’s what we believe in, it’s what we live out every day," he told CBS Austin.

The recognition of a pronounced need within the community steered this philanthropic response. "We know there's a real need," remarked Richards, "We know that we have a high population within our community that is economically disadvantaged, and so this is one way that we can serve them while we serve our community together," he described the initiative’s core motive in a conversation with KVUE. The Round Rock Police Foundation's website offers avenues for those inspired to participate in the 2025 event.
