Arlington Aquatics has signaled that the clock is ticking for locals to take advantage of the city's outdoor aquatic facilities. As reported by the City of Arlington, "Arlington Aquatics’ 2024 outdoor swim season is winding down."
The seasonal adieu to the sun-soaked splashes is imminent, with the Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center and the Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center preparing to limit their operations to weekends only until Labor Day. In an offering that seems to favor weekend warriors, the facilities' schedules are now heavy on Saturday and Sunday fun, whereas the weekday swims are, sadly, sunk. The aquatic centers will keep doors open on Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m., according to the City of Arlington.
For more meticulous planners or spontaneous splash-makers alike, Arlington's East Indoor Pool continues to welcome swimmers daily, with opening times that cater to both the early birds and the evening laps crowd. If drawing circles in the water is your preferred form of exercise, or perhaps meditation, you can hit the pool lanes from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and enjoy a leisurely float from noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
