Following a violent altercation in Las Vegas that left one woman dead and a man critically wounded, authorities have named 37-year-old Frederick Lee Blanche Jr. as the suspect involved in this tragic shooting, LVMPD reported. The incident took place behind a business on West Sahara Avenue, and Blanche, accused of open murder among other felonies, was apprehended on August 4, in Buckeye, Arizona and now awaits extradition to Las Vegas.

The deadly encounter unfolded early in the morning of August 3rd according to the same LVMPD statement, when the police were notified of a shooting behind a local establishment and arriving officers found the victims with gunshot wounds, the female victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the male victim, transported to UMC, was in critical condition, appearing to be a direct result of an argument that escalated to lethal violence.

LVMPD Homicide Section's ongoing investigation suggests a confrontation between the victims and Blanche following their exit from the business preceded the shooting; the authorities encourage anyone with information pertinent to this case to contact them directly or to submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
