An early morning altercation in Las Vegas has left a man dead, and a suspect has now been apprehended. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred on August 11, at around 2:11 a.m. at the corner of North Sandhill Road and Tully Avenue. The victim, who has yet to be identified pending notification of next of kin, sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, their homicide section's investigation led to the identification of 34-year-old Samario Williams as a suspect. On August 15, Williams was arrested in Omaha, Nebraska by the Nebraska State Police and is currently being held at the Douglas County Department of Corrections Jail. He awaits extradition to Las Vegas on an open murder charge.
Details are still emerging, but the preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was approached by two individuals, which subsequently led to an altercation. During the altercation, one of the suspects reportedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim. The ongoing investigation seeks to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the identification of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death at a later time.
