A suspect was taken into custody following a multi-agency SWAT operation yesterday in the Katy area, west of Harris County. A search and arrest warrant brought together a show of force including the Katy Police Department, the Houston Police Department, Harris County SWAT, and the Texas Department of Public Safety, reports ABC13.
The incident, commencing around 12:46 p.m. in the 2600 block of Maverick Park Lane, escalated quickly necessitating the aid of the various law enforcement entities. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed on social media that a suspect was indeed now in custody.
In a brief social media statement, the Harris County Sheriff's Office Special Weapons and Tactics team (HCSOSWAT) stated their involvement alongside the US Marshal’s Office and Katy PD in executing the warrant, as per an update on social media. Those familiar with the area were cautioned to steer clear while the operation unfolded.
