A man sought by law enforcement for two counts of felony murder, identified as David Shane Lancaster, was taken into custody in Atlanta. The arrest occurred on Monday, during the afternoon hours around 3 p.m. when officers spotted Lancaster carrying a black backpack departing from a residence; the officers trailed him, and ultimately, at a nearby dispensary, his freedom was cut short, and his trek concluded with handcuffs being snapped around his wrists. When searched, Lancaster’s backpack contained a black and silver Smith and Wesson handgun, an electronic scale, and a crystal-like substance weighing 0.68 kilograms thereafter tested positive as methamphetamine, making the investigators' catch that day doubly significant.

In their continued efforts to safeguard the community, the aforementioned evidence was secured and transferred to the Sheriff's Office for further investigation, as mentioned in a statement by the Atlanta News First.
