The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Alfredo Avila Garcia, initially fled on foot post confrontation. However, in an unexpected twist, Avila Garcia was taken to the Sacramento Police Department station on Freeport Boulevard by his family members, who then alerted authorities, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office Facebook post. He was arrested shortly after 3:15 PM without further incident.

Currently, Avila Garcia is being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail with bail set at $50,000. Awaiting his court appearance on August 27, his act of surrender now contrasts with the previous day's violence. Meanwhile, the victim of the stabbing, the deputies administered first-aid to, is expected to recover from his injuries.
