Suspects Detained in Harris County, One Charged with Illegal Weapon and Marijuana PossessionSource: Facebook/Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

Constables from Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to the 13100 block of Stonefield Drive earlier today, following a report of a suspicious person. Responding officers encountered two individuals who matched the description given in the call. These persons were identified as Tivon Thompson and a 16-year-old juvenile, as the office stated on their official Facebook page.

During the procedure of being detained, authorities found Thompson to unlawfully be in possession of 2.5 ounces of marijuana and a stolen firearm. The gun was modified with a switch, turning it into an automatic weapon, which is prohibited under law. The minor accompanying Thompson was also holding a handgun, which led to his subsequent arrest. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident.

In a statement provided by Constable Herman, "Tivon Thompson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Marijuana. The juvenile was arrested and booked into Harris County Juvenile Probation for Unlawful Carry of a Weapon." Court dates and bail for the individuals have not been set at this time.

The constable's office has not released further information regarding the origins of the weapons or the intentions of the suspects in possession of them. Community members have been urged to quickly report any suspicious activity they observe in hopes to prevent similarly dangerous situations.
