A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot in what the Houston Police Department says was a possible drive-by incident in North Houston. The officers from HPD's North Belt Patrol responded to a call near 11700 Airline Drive around 5:19 p.m. yesterday. Upon arrival, police learned the teen had already been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. According to ABC13 Houston, the youth is currently in stable condition.
In the initial stages of the investigation, a black sedan is believed to have been involved, fleeing northbound on Airline. Investigators are working on gathering more information, and neither the victim's identity nor potential suspects have been publicly disclosed. The HPD limited its news release to social media, providing a scene image with multiple police vehicles and a nearby shopping center visible in the distance, as detailed by ABC13 Houston.
