Three individuals have been indicted in the Stark County Court of Common Pleas concerning the tragic death of 7-year-old Ka'Marion Dolch, who was fatally shot inside a Knights Inn motel room in Plain Township on June 21. As reported by News 5 Cleveland, Brittany Franko is charged with obstructing official business, while Joseph King is accused of tampering with evidence. The boy's father, William Dolch, faces multiple charges including reckless homicide and endangering children.
Specific details highlighting the severity of the incident include William Dolch, 37, being indicted on charges such as having weapons while under disability and a three-year firearm specification, according to FOX 8 News. Upcoming court dates have been set with William Brent Dolch and Joseph Edwin King to tentatively appear in court tomorrow, while Brittany Franko is expected to follow on Sept. 6.
The Stark County Sheriff's Office initially charged Brittany A. Franko, 29, with more serious offenses including complicity to reckless homicide and child endangering. However, a Stark County grand jury has since solely indicted her on a single count of obstructing official business. This charge comes after she was accused of lying to investigators about the circumstances surrounding the deadly June 21 incident, as noted by The Review.
The boy's father, William B. Dolch, is accused of allowing his son to be in the presence of a loaded gun that ultimately discharged and resulted in the young child's death. With the community rocked by such a harrowing event, the legal proceedings are being closely followed. More information will become available following the hearings and as the case continues to unfold in the courts.
