
Three individuals have perished in a multi-vehicle accident on Route 101 in Candia, New Hampshire. CBS News Boston reports that the collision occurred on Saturday when a 2010 Toyota Tundra, driving at excessive speeds, clipped a 2018 Nissan Sentra before colliding with a guardrail. Subsequently, the Toyota veered into oncoming traffic, making a head-on impact with a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
According to WCVB, the drivers of both the Toyota and the Jeep were pronounced dead from their sustained injuries. Adding to the tragedy, a passenger in the Jeep also succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to Elliot Hospital with life-threatening conditions. The identities of the deceased have not been released, pending notification of their next of kin.
Meanwhile, the two passengers of the Nissan Sentra, identified as 57-year-old Timothy McMahon and 18-year-old Kelly McMahon, both from Peterborough, received hospital treatment for their injuries which were documented as non-life-threatening. On the scene, New Hampshire State Police officers were assisted by multiple local departments, including the Raymond and Auburn Police Departments and Candia Fire Rescue, indicating the breadth of the emergency response necessitated by the situation. Authorities have identified speed as a potential factor in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing. New Hampshire State Police are urging witnesses to come forward with any relevant information.
