Three men were charged with the armed robbery of a Honolulu game room. Rogelio Tadeo-Burrows, 24, B.J. Bakol, 19, and Joseph Konno III, 19, appeared in U.S. District Court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Kenneth J. Mansfield for their alleged involvement in a crime that took place on August 22, according to a release by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Allegations state that the trio entered the "944" game room on Kawaiahao Street and held up the staff and customers at gunpoint. Responding quickly to a 911 call, Honolulu Police Department officers apprehended Konno as he attempted to leave the premises, still masked. Tadeo-Burrows and Bakol were found by police in a bathroom inside the game room, in possession of two loaded firearms, cash, and masks, as mentioned by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The charges against the three men include up to twenty years in prison for robbery, with an added mandatory minimum sentence of seven years if convicted of the firearm charge. As reminded by the U.S. Attorney's Office, the charges are merely accusations at this stage, and the defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.

The investigation of this case has been a cooperative effort between the Honolulu Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations. The case is currently being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sara Ayabe and Barbara Eucker. This incident is part of the broader push by Project Safe Neighborhoods to address gun violence and other violent crime, aiming to create safer communities through multi-layered law enforcement strategies and community partnerships.
