Three individuals have been apprehended by Las Vegas police in connection with a calculated murder and robbery of a local man, who was allegedly lured under the pretense of a sexual encounter. According to FOX5, the suspects, Skylar Bailey, Nathan Nava, and Emiley Ridout, face charges of open murder and robbery.
On July 19, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was alerted to a shooting in an apartment complex. Responding officers found Conner Rebolledo, 19, on the ground with a gunshot wound. Despite a weapon clutched in his hand, Rebolledo succumbed to his injuries. A witness account stated that Rebolledo had been walking with an unknown female before he was "jumped" and subsequently pistol-whipped by the accused trio, with two to three gunshots being heard before the suspects fled, as FOX5 reported.
Text messages obtained under a search warrant indicated that Bailey and Ridout planned to use the pretense of a sexual encounter to rob Rebolledo, driven by financial desperation. Bailey, having children with Nava, appeared to orchestrate the robbery, with Ridout implicated through their shared familial ties, thus revealing a premeditated agenda hidden behind the guise of intimacy, according to evidence discussed by FOX5.
Further unraveling the case, police found incriminating evidence on the suspects' phones, showing the depth of their financial woes. Part of the digital trail included messages in which Bailey seemed to assure Ridout about the victim carrying money, saying, "He always brings w [Sic] him he likes to look flashy and show off." Such conversations suggest a familiarity with Rebolledo's habits, police found through an ongoing analysis of the obtained evidence, as reported by 8 News Now.
Moreover, Nava's messages with an individual known as "Spazz Out" further implicate him in the plotting of the robbery, though the identity of "Spazz Out" remains under investigation. The victim was known to work with large sums of cash due to his employment, adding apparent motive to the perpetrators' plan. The trio - Nava, Ridout, and Bailey - are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on September 17, where they will confront the legal ramifications of their harrowing actions, as detailed by 8 News Now.
