
In a recent announcement, the Metropolitan Police Department detailed the arrests of three individuals following a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle in Northwest D.C. The suspects, identified as 33-year-old Ricky Watkins, 30-year-old Davon Watkins, and 32-year-old Davion Hart, were arrested Sunday night and are now facing multiple charges, including firearms offenses.
During the stop, which occurred at approximately 9:59 p.m. on Sunday, officers discovered illegal firearms within the vehicle. Following the discovery, the three men have been charged with "Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device", according to the MPD's report.
Davion Hart and Davon Watkins now face charges for receiving stolen property, whereas Ricky Watkins and Davon Watkins must additionally contend with charges for being felons in Possession. In a detailed follow-up investigation, Ricky and Davon Watkins were further connected to and charged with six separate offenses that unfolded in Northwest over the last week.
The series of crimes, ranging from felony destruction of property to armed robbery, occurred between July 31 and August 4. This included a Burglary Two and theft, which occurred in the 3200 block of Mt. Pleasant Street, and a Robbery (Gun) instance in the 2700 block of 11th Street, both dated to last Wednesday. Additional burglary and destruction of property charges pertain to incidents on Sunday, as documented in the MPD's release.
