
In the early hours of Friday morning, a shooting in Chicago's Auburn Gresham neighborhood left three people injured, one seriously. According to the Chicago Tribune, a 40-year-old woman received a head wound after shots rang out while she and two men were seated inside a parked vehicle on the 8300 block of South Ashland Avenue.
Police say the woman was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition shortly after the incident took place after 1 a.m., where shots struck her in the head. A second victim, a 30-year-old man, was shot in the shoulder and is reported to be in good condition at the same hospital. Meanwhile, the third injured, also a 40-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand and has been reported in good condition after being taken to U Chicago Medicine.
No suspects have been detained in connection with the violent episode, and detectives from Chicago are still piecing together the circumstances that led to the bloodshed. ABC7 Chicago confirms that the shooting occurred while the victims were sitting in a vehicle, which was parked at the aforementioned South Side location.
At this time, the authorities have not released any details regarding a potential motive or the identities of the persons involved.
