
Washington D.C. has been marked by another tragedy following a high-speed vehicular collision that claimed a life in the Northeast of the city. The Metropolitan Police Department is conducting a thorough investigation into the events that occurred on Wednesday evening. According to the MPD's report, it was approximately 6:41 p.m. when an Infiniti FX35, speeding excessively, failed to stop at a red light on Eastern Avenue.
An Infiniti crashed into a Hyundai Tucson at an intersection on Bunker Hill Road. The Infiniti then lost control, crossed the median, and hit a scooter with two women on it. The crash was so severe that one woman was killed on the spot, while the other was taken to the hospital.
Emergency services responded to the tragedy, and DC Fire and EMS swiftly transported the injured to nearby medical facilities for treatment. As of yet, the identity of the deceased has not been released, with officials waiting to inform the next of kin.
