A truck driver found himself at the center of chaos when he accidentally interrupted a sideshow in the Sacramento area last Sunday. According to KCRA, the incident took place near Metro Air Parkway and Allbaugh Drive, where participants of an illegal street event targeted the driver with projectiles, striking him in the head. The California Highway Patrol reported that the driver's current condition remains unknown.
Subsequently, one sideshow driver led authorities on an intense high-speed chase after scattering from the initial scene. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that they apprehended an individual on suspicions related to reckless driving and DUI. This was part of a larger crackdown that led to multiple vehicles being stopped, as law enforcement is reporting an uptick in such incidents, particularly during the warmer months, according to ABC10. Officer Ruben Jones of the California Highway Patrol advised those who encounter a sideshow to keep a safe distance and take note of vehicle descriptions and license plates. This information can assist law enforcement in tracking down participants later.
"Law enforcement, as a whole, we are coming after you. We do not want this behavior because people are getting hurt as vehicles go out of control more and more. We are seeing violence," Officer Jones further stated in the ABC10 interview. He warned that sideshow participants, as well as spectators, can face criminal charges, fines, and have their vehicles impounded.
