Early Friday morning, a two-alarm fire broke out in an Everett apartment complex, leaving two people injured and several units damaged. The Everett Fire Department responded to the incident at the Fulton's Crossing Apartments located at 120 SE Everett Mall Way, just after 5:15 a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the Everett Fire Department.

The situation was exacerbated when, a neighbor informed officers that another individual had possibly jumped from their balcony, according to KOMO News. This account, however, has not been officially confirmed by the EFD. Firefighters discovered a third person on the grass outside of the building, adding complexity to the morning's emergency proceedings.

Neighbors played a critical role in alerting each other to the danger, with one resident recalling how their neighbor knocked on their door to wake them up, as stated in an interview with FOX 13. Fire officials managed to extinguish the fire, but not without several apartment units getting damaged and multiple residents being displaced. The current conditions of the two individuals injured in the fire have not yet been released.

The American Red Cross was on site, assisting with shelter, food, clothing, and other urgent needs for those affected. According to KING 5, a portion of the building's roof has been severely damaged. In addition to human residents, two pets were also rescued from the blaze by firefighters.
