Tragedy struck early this morning in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood when a motorcycle collided with a Seattle Fire Department ladder truck, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. KOMO News reported that the accident occurred at around 3:16 a.m. and lead to an immediate closure of the 1000 block of Queen Anne Avenue North from all directions.

According to FOX 13 Seattle, the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed when it disregarded a stop sign and struck the fire truck. The fire truck had its emergency lights activated at the time because crews were responding to a fire alarm call. Both men on the motorcycle, in their 30s, suffered fatal injuries, with the driver dying at the scene and the passenger later at Harborview Medical Center.

The collision inflicted significant damage on both the motorcycle and the fire department's vehicle. The Seattle Times detailed that the incident caused "The fire truck has significant damage to the rear passenger door.".

As a result of the crash, traffic was disrupted throughout the morning, with road closures extending to northbound Queen Anne Avenue North, from Aloha Street to Highland Drive. The Seattle Department of Transportation worked to manage the scene as the investigation unfolded and provided traffic diversions until the road was cleared and reopened to the public.
