Early Thursday morning, a coordinated effort between several law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of two more suspects tied to a June shooting on Dunmoreland Street in Springfield. Officials from the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force participated in the operation.
The June 29 incident, which triggered several ShotSpotter alerts, caused three non-life-threatening injuries and damaged five vehicles and two homes. The investigation continued through the summer, leading to recent arrests announced by the Springfield Police Department.
Among those arrested is 34-year-old Kamou Anderson, faced with multiple charges including discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and two counts of attempted assault & battery with a firearm. Also in custody is 55-year-old Michael Miller, who faces similar charges coupled with the possession of two large-capacity firearm magazines, the Springfield Police Department has reported.
