The June 29 incident, which triggered several ShotSpotter alerts, caused three non-life-threatening injuries and damaged five vehicles and two homes. The investigation continued through the summer, leading to recent arrests announced by the Springfield Police Department.

Among those arrested is 34-year-old Kamou Anderson, faced with multiple charges including discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and two counts of attempted assault & battery with a firearm. Also in custody is 55-year-old Michael Miller, who faces similar charges coupled with the possession of two large-capacity firearm magazines, the Springfield Police Department has reported.
