
Two individuals face charges after a series of armed robberies on Chicago's West Side. On Tuesday, August 27, at approximately 8:31 a.m., Rayshawn Warship, 19, and Justin Douglas, 21, were apprehended by the Chicago Police, suspected of robbing two men at gunpoint within a span of fifteen minutes.
According to the Chicago Police Department's release, Warship and Douglas are accused of first targeting a 41-year-old male in the 3300 block of W. Polk St., and then confronting a 30-year-old male soon after in the 1100 block of N. Lawndale Ave. Both incidents occurred in the city's 11th District. It was reported that personal belongings were taken from the victims.
Warship, residing on the 900 block of N. Pine Ave., and Douglas from the 8000 block of S. Yates Blvd., are facing two felony counts each of Robbery - Armed with Firearm and Aggravated UUW/Loaded-No FCCA-FOID. Additionally, Warship is charged with two misdemeanors Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and Reckless Driving, alongside two Traffic Citations.
The detention hearing for both suspects is to quickly take place on August 29, 2024, at 2600 S. California Ave. The police statement did not provide further information pending the hearing.
