Undercover operatives from Constable Mark Herman's Office made arrests at a local massage parlor in response to citizen complaints that hinted at illicit activities tucked behind the benign facade of skincare. On Tuesday, Sun Massage, located in the 12000 block of Westgate Road, became the focus of an investigation into alleged prostitution. Posing as clients, investigators were reportedly solicited for sex and/or sex acts in exchange for money by employees Yu-Hsuan Huang and Hsiu-Ching Huang, according to a statement released by the constable's office.

The Huangs, detained and charged with prostitution, now face the consequences of operating without a proper massage therapist license in Texas. As they were booked into the Harris County Jail, a relatively low bond at $100.00 each was set. Although this operation was in response to community concerns, Constable Herman suggests that these infractions could be just the beginning of a much larger, more serious problem.

"Massage parlors are frequently used by used by criminals not just for these offenses, but for other illegal activities such as money laundering. Workers employed in such establishments can be victims of human trafficking through coercion, fraud, false promises, and threats of serious harm, psychological harm, reputational harm, and debt manipulation," Constable Mark Herman's statement in a Facebook post.

Harris County residents are encouraged to remain vigilant against these hidden crimes. Individuals suspecting illegal activities can report to the Harris County Constable's Office by calling 281-376-3472 or through their website, where anonymous tips are welcomed.
