
Houston Police Department (HPD) detectives are actively investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred late last week at an apartment complex located at 1711 Caroline Street. The event, which resulted in the death of an unidentified female, took place around 11:10 p.m. on Friday, August 2. As per the City of Houston, the woman's identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Officers, who were called to the scene following a shooting report, discovered the woman unresponsive from gunshot wounds suffered in the incident. The Houston Fire Department's paramedics were also dispatched and arrived only to pronounce the woman deceased. The early stages of the investigation seem to be difficult as police have yet to fully determine a motive or suspect, with no descriptions available to be publicly shared at this time.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Jorsch and D. Lunceford are leading the case and have been gathering evidence and information.
