Heads up, drivers in Bucks and Chester counties — some significant roadwork is on the horizon that will likely add a bit of time to your commutes. PennDOT has announced resurfacing efforts set to start next week on Route 213, Cedar Hollow Road, and Highland Avenue, as part of a larger $14.9 million initiative aimed at improving stormwater facilities in the greater Philadelphia area. The work is scheduled from Monday, August 5, to Friday, August 9, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Securing routes that allow us to efficiently navigate is essential for the pulse of our daily lives. With that in mind, motorists are to be advised to plan to add some extra minutes to their travel times while these areas are under construction. The slated lane closures are set to take place on Route 213 (Maple Avenue/Old Lincoln Highway) between Wheeler Way and Woodbourne Road, Highland Avenue from Avenue F to Hulmeville Road, and Cedar Hollow Road between Jacqueline Drive and West Central Avenue. These improvements, funded entirely by state resources, are under the contractor wing of Highway Materials, Inc., based in Flourtown, Montgomery County.
