After several months of investigation, the Fairfield Police Department's Traffic Unit arrested 21-year-old Jaered Diago of Vacaville in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian in April. Diago was taken into custody yesterday and is now in Solano County Jail, as per the Fairfield Police Department.

The incident occurred on April 23 at around 1:00 am at the intersection of Air Base Parkway and Wiley Lane. When officers arrived, they found the victim but had no immediate clues about the suspect or vehicle involved. The roadway was closed for several hours as investigators meticulously searched for evidence, according to an earlier report by Hoodline.

By April 24, police had located the suspect vehicle at a residence in Vacaville. Diago's arrest highlights the department's commitment to solving the case, as acknowledged in the Fairfield Police press release.
