Last Friday, two employees remotely monitoring their surveillance system received a real-time alert and footage of a burglar in action on the 900 block of Tennessee Street. The unsuspecting thief was caught on camera breaking through the glass and stealing items from the closed business, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
Seizing the initiative, the employees, driven by a protective instinct for their livelihood, didn't hesitate. They arrived promptly at the scene and found the burglar just as he was exiting with the stolen merchandise. Having detained the burglar, the employees then contacted the Vallejo Police Department (VPD), who swiftly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, VPD officers quickly apprehended the suspect and thoroughly searched, uncovering approximately $300 worth of goods. "Thanks to the employees' vigilance, our officers were able to arrest the suspect and help protect our local businesses!" the Vallejo Police Department extolled in their official statement.
A records check conducted by the officers revealed that the burglar was no stranger to crime, as he had a $25,000 warrant for his arrest for burglary. The suspect was transported and booked into Solano County Jail.
