Drivers in Vallejo are warned of upcoming disruptions as Caltrans announces a three-week single-lane closure on the Walnut Ave/Railroad Ave off-ramp overcrossing on State Route 37 from today until September 13. The closure, necessary for emergency repairs to a damaged bridge barrier and safety rail, is set to restrict traffic partially, as per the City of Vallejo.
During the roadwork, one of the two lanes will be closed, with temporary K-rail barriers placed along the southbound direction of the overcrossing. This setup is designed to ensure that work crews have enough space to operate safely and to keep motorists away from the construction site. While this inconvenience may frustrate some commuters, the westbound State Route 37 will remain unaffected by the lane closure.
Caltrans has noted that the duration of the repairs depends on the cooperation of weather conditions and could be subject to scheduling changes. A plea for understanding permeates their message as they urge the public, as per the City of Vallejo, "Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our state’s highways, bridges, and tunnels."
